| Description | The School of Molecular and Physical Sciences (SMAPS) in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at the University of New England (UNE) invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor faculty position with a focus in analytical chemistry, starting in August 2026. The successful candidate will join a collegial, engaged team of faculty and professional staff in a school offering academic programs in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, and Laboratory Science. | Responsibilities | The school seeks candidates to teach quantitative analysis and instrumental methods courses, as well as general chemistry and advanced courses of the candidates’ expertise to meet the needs of the school and college. The teaching expectation is the equivalent of 12 credits per semester. The successful candidate will engage in curriculum development and participate in academic advising, recruiting, course and program assessment, and service to the school, college and university. |
| Qualifications | A Ph.D. in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment; preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral experience and/or prior teaching experience. Individuals committed to teaching with inclusive practices that promote active engagement to foster student learning are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates demonstrating knowledge of green and sustainable practices and/or those who have biomedical, forensic or environmental chemistry training will also be given preference. |
