THE OPPORTUNITY/POSITION DESCRIPTION
This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Assistant Professor is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation’s foremost academic health science center’s working together with one of the nation’s premier health systems, New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Division of Child and Adolescent Health in the Department of Pediatrics at Columbia University Medical Center is recruiting for a Child Abuse Pediatrician to join an established Child Protection Program. The Child Protection program is housed in the Division of Child and Adolescent Health which includes a diverse faculty working in clinical care, research and education within outpatient and inpatient programs. Columbia University's Medical Center provides world-class leadership in patient care, medical education, and scientific research.
This new faculty will be joining an exisiting Child Abuseand will work primarily at the Manhattan Child Advocacy Center and provide inpatient consults as well as e-consults/remote to the Emergency Department. The position is a full-time Columbia University faculty position with full fringe benefits. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities will include patient care and teaching of residents and medical students. Opportunities for research will also be available.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a MD or DO degree and an active NYS Medical License.
- Must be board-certified in Pediatrics and BC/BE in Child Abuse Pediatrics.
- Consistently strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with professionals in other disciplines.
- The ability to create a high-energy results-oriented work environment that encourages colleagues and staff to value each other?s contributions and the ability to share and celebrate success with colleagues and staff.
- They should have excellent clinical and interpersonal skills and interest in teaching.
- They will be expected to develop an area of scholarly expertise and to have demonstrated leadership abilities.
