Job Description:

The Nursing Program seeks a passionate, experienced faculty member to join our undergraduate nursing program. The ideal candidate will facilitate learning in the didactic, lab, or clinical setting. Candidates will demonstrate excellence in teaching through innovative, evidence-based practice. This role is a wonderful opportunity for a dedicated nurse educator to shape the future of the nursing workforce with compassionate, skilled, and knowledgeable nursing professionals.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Facilitate learning (Didactic, lab, or clinical)
• Facilitate learner development and socialization
• Utilize assessment and evaluation strategies
• Participate in curriculum design and evaluation of program outcomes
• Function as a change agent and leader
• Pursue continuous quality improvement in the nurse educator role
• Engage in scholarship
• Advising and student support
• Actively function within the educational environment.
• Institutional engagement and advancement
• Exhibit Lasallian principles in the academic environment

Requirements:

• A doctoral degree (Ph.D., DNP, DNSc) is preferred. (Note: To be considered for the appointment of Assistant Professor, the candidate must have a doctoral degree by the time of initial appointment. Otherwise, candidates will be considered for an Instructor position).
• Credentialed to teach Nursing at the University level. At a minimum, this usually requires an MSN degree from an accredited college/university. Consideration will be given to those candidates with an MSN in Nursing Education.
• Current or eligible for an active, unencumbered Tennessee registered nursing license or multistate licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in Tennessee.
• Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
