Position Description
The School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Instruction (non-tenure-track). The position involves teaching a minimum of two organized political science courses per semester and providing service contributions to the program and serving as director of the UT Dallas Initiative for Civic Leadership. The ideal candidate should be experienced in university instruction at the graduate and undergraduate levels and be able to teach a wide range of political science courses in theory and policy. This position has no research expectations.
As director of the Civic Leadership Initiative, the ideal candidate will support university recruitment and retention through the creation of a unique experiential and civic learning program. This program will be situated within the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences, but it will be open to students of all majors supporting internship opportunities in local government.
The appointment commences for the fall 2026 semester.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: A PhD or equivalent in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs or a related discipline is required prior to employment. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.
Preferred Education and Experience: Prior experience of honors-level teaching is preferred.

The School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences (EPPS) at UT Dallas is a national leader in research addressing critical social, political, and economic issues.
