| Details | University of Utah, College of Health Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Career-Line Assistant Professor (Lecturer), Lecturer Track Faculty The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism in the College of Health at the University of Utah invites applications for a career-line Assistant Professor (Lecturer) position. The Department is seeking a skilled educator who will assist with (1) instructing undergraduate classes in management and marketing, (2) internship coordination and other experiential opportunities for students in hospitality, event, and sport, and (3) the U-EXPLORE program. Candidates with teaching and professional experiences in hospitality, event, and sport managements are encouraged to apply. Expected work responsibilities are 60% in teaching and 40% in administration and service. The successful candidate will: · Teach undergraduate courses in management and marketing within parks, recreation, hospitality, event, and sport, both in-person and online formats. Teaching load will be six courses per year, (three courses in Fall, three courses in Spring). · Serve as the Department’s internship coordinator, enhancing the partnerships with industry professionals. · Contribute to curriculum development, student recruitment, and experiential education in hospitality, event, and sport. · Support the U-EXPLORE program – direct or support the Wild Utah Living Learning Community by coordinating a semester-long seminar series and working with residence hall staff to facilitate strong student learning outcomes. The Department is particularly interested in candidates with a vision and drive for (1) strengthening our undergraduate education in hospitality, event, and sport and (2) contributing to the Department’s ongoing relationship-building with these industry sectors.
