The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio (UTHSA) is seeking a surgical pathologist with strong diagnostic skills. Additional interest or experience in surgical pathology specialties including dermatopathology, gynecologic pathology, breast pathology, bone & soft tissue, GI/Liver pathology, and genitourinary pathology are highly desirable. Pathologists with experience or fellows graduating in 2023 are welcome to apply. Ancillary studies like immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and electron microscopy are available in-house. The Department of Pathology trains residents and has fellowships in surgical pathology, cytopathology, hematopathology, transfusion medicine and clinical informatics.  Opportunities for clinical and bench research are available with colleagues in Pathology and in other medical school departments, at the NCI-designated Mays Cancer Center, and at the Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Center (GCCRI).

The successful candidate must have a MD, DO and/or PhD degree and be certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. The academic appointment will be at a level commensurate with the individual’s credentials and accomplishments. The successful candidate must have scholarly achievements including teaching, and publication record is highly desirable.  The successful ABP certified candidate must possess or be qualified to obtain a current Texas medical license.
