Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Admissions will manage and coordinate the daily operations of the Admissions Welcome Center, events, and Patriot Ambassadors. Responsibilities include providing experience for prospective students and parents providing individual or group tour experiences. Facilitating on-campus events for prospective students. The position will be responsible for hiring, supervising, and training the Welcome Center full-time staff and Patriot Ambassadors. Travel, some extended hours and weekend work are required of the position. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions from the cold to extreme heat, as well as in a fluid environment. Occasionally required to work some evenings and weekends depending on University events.
Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks
- Provide supervision and management in developing, implementing, and continually assessing the strengths and opportunities for the welcome center and on-campus events.
- Develop a comprehensive, strategic vision for increasing visitor volume for campus experiences.
- Foster dialogue across the welcome center staff, enrollment services division and other college offices.
- Oversee all data integrity and reporting in the Customer Relations Management system (Slate).
- Manage the Welcome Center Coordinator who oversees all daily campus visits with prospective students.
- Work closely with other campus entities to provide seamless support and a positive campus experience for visitors.
- Coordinate ASTRA and MET requests and marketing materials.
- Facilitate comprehensive training for staff.
- Provide daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reporting and assessment.
- Plan, lead and facilitate engaging campus events for prospective students.
- Travel to various campus locations to foster and sustain partnerships, attend gatherings, events, and activities related to building rapport for the University.
- Assure that all prospective students and visitors to campus have a positive experience.
- Synchronize the student out-bound call center, timing campaigns with the needs of the enrollment cycle.
- Inventory all admission materials including ordering and purchasing.
- Assist with specialty tours as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Three (3) years of experience counseling students in admissions, financial aid, or in a closely related area.
- A combination of experience and education may be considered.
Preferred Education / Experience
- Master's degree.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Required Certifications/Licenses
- Texas Driver’s License (or receive within 30 days of hire date).

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
