Posting Summary
Work with the Director of Vermont EPSCoR/VTSGC, faculty, stakeholders, and staff to implement (1) the Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), a congressionally-mandated, federal/state/industry partnership program designed to enhance the research infrastructure in states which are under-funded in research; and (2) the Vermont Space Grant Consortium (VTSGC), a NASA-funded national network of colleges and universities working to expand opportunities for Americans to understand and participate in NASA’s aeronautics and space projects by supporting and enhancing science and engineering education, research and public outreach efforts. Assist the Vermont EPSCoR/VTSGC Director in developing new projects. Coordinate all facets of the program activities. Direct communications efforts and coordinate communications training.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
MA, MS or PhD degree in related area preferred; minimum 5 years related experience in education, administration, and outreach. Time management and personnel management skills, strong public relations ability; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality; high level of comfort with representatives of the academic, business and government communities; ability to work effectively with the Vermont EPSCoR/VTSGC Director and fellow staff members as a team; ability to work effectively with Vermont EPSCoR and VTSGC steering committees; ability to function as a representative of Vermont EPSCoR/VTSGC at state-wide and national level, including within the national EPSCoR and Space Grant communities; flexibility in schedule for grant deadlines; willingness to travel; knowledge of computers, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and websites.
Desirable Qualifications
Doctoral degree in a STEM discipline; experience with grant-application preparation, experience with research administration.
Anticipated Pay Range $95,000 - $105,000

Special Conditions A probationary period may be required, Contingent on continued funding, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
