| Scope of Job | Responsible for the overall content, technical functions, system upgrades and overall quality control for the degree audit system. To plan, review, implement, coordinate testing of and introduce system enhancements and modifications to constituents. |
| Description of Duties | · Responsible for the technical function, system performance, and overall content and administration of the degree audit system. · Assists in the general administration functions of the department to include establishment and implementation of policies and procedures, development of goals and objectives, personnel administration and development for the assigned area. · Participates in office budget planning and oversight, supervises assigned staff and monitors employee performance. · Responsible for the planning, creation, implementation, validation, and maintenance of coding (scribe) degree requirements within the degree audit system in compliance with institutional, state and federal laws, policies, and practices. · Establishes, manages, and monitors quality control standards for the degree audit system. · Coordinates with the University Registrar, Academic Affairs, Student Success, Health Affairs and the Graduate College to ensure degree audit system configurations and functionality align with established UTRGV state, federal and accreditation policies and requirements. · Oversees the creation and maintenance of documentation related to the degree audit system including programming changes, system upgrades, coding (scribe) testing and validation. Develops and maintains annual system maintenance including setups and configurations. · Reports and escalates application issues related to coding and end user functionality to the vendor; monitors reported issues for response; maintains dialogue with the vendor in order to resolve the issue. · Leads system upgrades and acts as liaison with appropriate partners in the Office of Information Technology and with vendors. · Reviews university business processes and evaluates their impact in the degree audit system and student information system as needed. Reports issues and proposes feasible solutions. · Maintains knowledge of the degree audit system, student information system, and academic policies driven by institutional, state, federal, and accreditation regulations, and understands their impacts on the degree audit process. · Conducts troubleshooting, research, and analysis to ensure degree audit system is updated/aligned with UTRGV practices and processes. · Serves as a primary point of contact and is a resource to academic advisors, registrar staff, financial aid staff, faculty, and other end users regarding the degree audit system functionality. · Actively participates in the curriculum process and attends curriculum committee meetings. Reviews and assesses impact of curriculum proposals to the degree audit system; provides feedback and proposes feasible solutions. · Creates, plans, and conducts trainings to technical and non-technical end users and develops tools to aid in the end-user experience. · Assists in the creation of reports and development of software programs to utilize the data from the degree audit system. · Performs other duties as assigned. |

| Preferred Experience | Experience with Ellucian Degree works or another degree auditing software in a higher education setting. |
| Equipment | Required: Use of standard office equipment. Preferred: Experience with Ellucian Degree Works or another degree auditing software is preferred. |
| Working Conditions | Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and weekend work is required. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment and can be performed remote within close proximity to a UTRGV campus. If the work is performed remote, high-speed internet and a designated workspace are required. The selected candidate will be required to attend on-campus meetings and participate in campus events as requested. |
