| Job Description Summary | The Department of Nutritional Sciences at Auburn University invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with a research focus on human nutrition and a strong foundation in nutritional sciences. This position is part of a strategic initiative to expand the department’s research capacity in human nutrition. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a robust, externally funded research program that bridges basic science and applied human nutrition. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, human nutrition assessment methods, nutrient metabolism, diet-disease mechanisms, biomarker discovery, and the physiological effects of dietary patterns or components. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in research related to models of disease and/or planning and implementing human clinical research and the diet-disease process and application of information in clinical and healthcare settings. The candidate’s work should contribute to the advancement of human nutrition science and support the land-grant mission of Auburn University. This faculty member will play a critical role in teaching foundational nutrition science courses as well as courses related to diet-disease relationships and laboratory-based instruction. These courses are essential to the department’s curriculum and provide students with the scientific literacy needed to understand how nutrition influences human health at the molecular, cellular, and systemic levels, and how this information can be applied in clinical and public health settings.
