The University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC) and the Department of Pharmacology in the College of Medicine – Tucson invite applications for an open-rank, tenure-eligible or tenured faculty position in cancer pharmacology, with emphasis on novel drug targets and drug discovery. We welcome investigators pursuing innovative approaches to cancer therapeutics, target identification, mechanism-based pharmacology, or chemoprevention.
We have a special interest in candidates focused on the development of novel agents for cancer-associated pain, a major unmet need and strength within the Department of Pharmacology. This joint recruitment aims to grow our excellence in the pharmacology of pain and symptom management in cancer, while supporting broader drug discovery efforts.
While pain pharmacology is a priority area, we strongly encourage applications from those working in cancer therapeutics, drug resistance, drug metabolism, or immune modulation through pharmacologic strategies. Ongoing collaborative efforts span drug discovery in breast cancer, sarcoma, prostate and melanoma, providing rich opportunities for integration.
