Position Summary
The Advising Center- Student Worker will assist with the daily routine office operations including, front desk and clerical support. The position requires providing effective communication through customer service and the ability to multi-task. This position will report to the Administrative Assistant and the Director of Undergraduate Advising.
This is a student position open to current UIW students who may be hired through the Federal Work-Study Program or student employment.
Essential Functions
  • Assist students, faculty and staff in a professional manner.
  • Answer the telephone, screen calls, and make appointments with the designated advisor.
  • Update and file office forms as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding student information and files.
  • Assist students with completing UAC forms.
  • Deliver and retriever mail, answer University Advising Center emails.
  • Assist with all the campaigns and projects associated with the University Advising Center.
  • Maintains office inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills.
  • Ability to work professionally in a high paced and stressful environment.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • General Office duties etc. and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, and NCAA.
Required Education
Current UIW student approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program.
