Description
Adjunct Faculty within the College of Professional Studies (CPS) are critical to the success of UNE’s programs. The role of the faculty in CPS is to facilitate the learning process for students through timely and effective instruction and communication. Instructors also serve as mentors, sharing their expertise to help guide students and ensure they achieve their educational and professional goals. Faculty foster student success and retention by creating a positive educational environment, allowing students to gain the maximum benefit from their coursework.
Pay range is $1,069-$3,775 per semester based on course type and enrollment.
Responsibilities
  • Guide students through their educational experience while upholding and adhering to the CPS commitment to student success
  • Provide timely response to student inquiries, within 24 hours
  • Facilitate class instruction by engaging in the online course portal a minimum of 5 times per week
  • Host a minimum of one hour of virtual office hours per week
  • Post weekly announcements to enhance course content
  • Demonstrate excellent collaborative and communication skills
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate has experience teaching online in an educational setting, has demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and assessment, and has a passion for teaching Nutrition science
  • Master’s degree in Nutrition or related field and current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Licensure
  • A desire to motivate and encourage students in academic and professional settings
  • Expertise teaching online and the desire to learn and apply new technological approaches to education
  • Experience using the Brightspace/D2L Learning Management system
  • Experience in teaching research methods and statistics preferred
