Description
Adjunct Faculty within the College of Professional Studies (CPS) are critical to the success of UNE’s online programs. The role of the faculty in CPS is to facilitate the learning process for online students through timely and effective instruction and communication. Instructors also serve as mentors, sharing their experience to help guide students and ensure they achieve their educational and professional goals. The faculty facilitates the retention of students through creating a positive educational environment, allowing for students to derive the maximum benefits from the program in which they are enrolled. Instructors will receive supervision, collaboration, and guidance from the UNE Online MS in Climate Change Leadership (CCL) Program.

Responsibilities
  • Providing expert, graduate-level knowledge in climate value chain management.
  • Guiding students through their educational experience while upholding the CPS commitment to student success.
  • Responding to student inquiries in a timely manner, within 24 hours.
  • Facilitating class instruction by engaging in the online course portal at least five times per week.
  • Hosting a minimum of one hour of virtual office hours per week and at least two synchronous class sessions per semester.
  • Demonstrating excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Analyzing and applying best practices in online education for this subject area.
Qualifications
  • Experience teaching online in an educational setting and demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for climate value chain management.
  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (PhD preferred).
  • A minimum of three years of teaching experience in the topic area.
  • A desire to motivate and encourage students in both academic and professional settings.
  • Expertise in online teaching and a willingness to learn and apply new technological approaches to education.
  • Experience using the Brightspace/D2L Learning Management System (preferred).
