The University of St. Thomas Biology Department invites applications for an adjunct faculty member to teach one lecture course, Principles of Biochemistry, during the Spring 2026 semester. Adjunct appointments are without tenure and are not tenure-track appointments. Principles of Biochemistry is a 4-credit upper-division Biology course (for majors) with no lab - it is the Biology version of Biochemistry. Class size is approximately 24 students. Course materials are available for use, although the instructor will have some leeway in making modifications to suit their instructional goals. Experience with biochemistry content is required. Some experience leading a college level lecture class is preferred. PhD is preferred.
This posting is for a pooled, adjunct instructor position for continuous recruitment.
Salary Range:
The salary range for the College of Arts and Sciences Adjunct positions ranges from $5,994 to $6,717 (per 4 credit undergraduate course). Rate of pay is determined by academic credential and years of teaching experience.
This class is schedule for 8:15-9:20AM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays throughout the semester (early February to mid-May).

Adjunct Faculty Teaching Responsibilities to Include:
- Deliver instruction using student-engaged pedagogical approaches
- Provide timely feedback to students re: their grades and progress in course
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Expertise in Biochemistry
- Experience leading a college-level class is preferred
