About the Role

The Department of Computer Science resides within the School of Science and Technology on the Clifton Campus of Nottingham Trent University (NTU), and there are excellent collaborative opportunities with colleagues in other departments and research centres. Currently, the department comprises 70 academic staff and ~25 PhD research students, as well as large undergraduate and taught postgraduate cohorts. The department provides researchers with an exciting environment for undertaking high-quality, interdisciplinary work.

Our Department of Computer Science combines internationally significant research with an outstanding record for teaching excellence. Our state-of-the-art facilities and career-focused approach to course design provide the right conditions for students to excel in their chosen fields. The department has research strengths in Interactive Systems, Computational Intelligence, Pervasive Computing, and Cybersecurity, with active research groups breaking new ground in these fields. As part of your supporting statement, please identify the aims and objectives of your proposed PhD research. You may also identify potential supervisors for your research project. The shortlisted candidates will be required to deliver a 5-minute presentation about their proposed PhD research project.
