Position Description
The project involves mathematical modelling of complex fluid dynamics, in particular viscoelastic flows in nano-structures. The work involves mathematical modelling and machine learning both using simulated and real data.

The main duties involved in a post-doctoral position is to conduct research. Teaching may also be included, but up to no more than 20% of working hours. The position includes the opportunity for three weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning. The purpose of the position is to develop the independence as a researcher and to create the opportunity of further development.

Research within the subject area Teaching in the first, second and third cycles of studies Supervision of degree projects and doctoral students Actively seeking external research funding Collaboration with industry and wider society Administration related to the work duties listed above The research will focus on the development and application of advanced modelling and machine learning methods, and may involve the following areas:

Dimensionality reduction. Data-driven methods for estimating dynamical models Data-driven methods for estimating discriminant models Design and use of autoencoders (VAEs, GANs), diffusion models, and other ML methods for analysing and discovering patterns in probability distributions in latent space.
