CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOB
- Job location: ICRA – Catalan Institute for Water Research, Girona (Spain)
- Number of positions available: 1
- Expected start: 1st May 2026
- Expected duration of the contract: 6 months
- Gross Annual Salary package: 26.000€ – 46.000€
OFFER DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work in ICRA’s Support and Transfer Services, specifically, in various projects and contracts that require the participation of personnel with extensive knowledge and experience in advanced chemical analysis of emerging contaminants using LC-MS and LC-HRMS (Orbitrap) instrumentation.
Among the projects to participate will be the IntoDBP, in which participation in the evaluation of pilot plant functioning and chemical analysis of wide range of DBPs and precursors is required.
KEY DUTIES
Sample preparation using SPE techniques for the preconcentration of contaminants from water samples.
Analysis of samples using methods based on LC-MS/MS and LC-HRMS (Orbitrap) following protocols for suspect screening, target analysis and non-target screening.
Evaluation of obtained data and their statistical analysis.
Elaboration of reports and communication with project/contract founders.
Participation in preparation of proposals for new calls on topics related with the aims of the research.

Research Field or Field of knowledge:
Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry or related field
Qualifications and Education Level:
PhD in chemistry, environmental chemistry, analytical chemistry or related field
Skills:
Skills in preparation of environmental samples for chemical analysis, instrumental chemical analysis. Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Power Point, etc.)
Required Languages:
English, Spanish, Catalan
Required Experience:
Min 5 years of postdoctoral experience as postdoctoral researcher or advanced tecnitian working on projects with topics related with the study of emerging contaminants.
Practical experience in sample preparation of envrionemantl samples (water, soil, etc.) and analysis using LC-MS and LC-HRMS.
Experience in HRMS data treatmeant
