ICFO is offering postdoctoral positions to well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientists who wish to enhance their scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.

The successful candidate will be joining the Attoscience and Ultrafast Optics Research Group led by Prof. Dr. Jens Biegert.

We are seeking highly motivated and skilled professional whoes core responsibility will be the reassembly, optimization, and commissioning of the group’s mid-infrared optical parametric chirped pulse amplification system. This ensures full operational restoration to safeguard the laboratory’s scientific capabilities.

The tasks include:

  • Full mechanical reassembly and precision optical alignment
  • Operational mid-IR system at full power, with documented alignment procedures.
  • Few-cycle pulse compression
  • Complete temporal and spectral characterization
  • Optimization of performance parameters
  • Setup and implementation of the pump line (THz)
