Operations Management Faculty Position Description
The Bang College of Business invites applications for one Assistant/Associate Professor faculty position in Operations Management. The Bang College of Business has been growing in enrollment and is therefore looking for new faculty member(s). Candidates are expected to teach various courses in Operations Management for both undergraduate and graduate programs. The Bang College of Business offers Bachelor, Master, MBA and PhD programs. The Bang College of Business is the first EFMD program accredited school in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. We are currently working towards EQUIS and AACSB accreditation. The appointment will normally start in Fall 2026 (August 15, 2026). Responsibilities involve teaching, research, and service.
Qualifications
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Operations Management from an AACSB/EQUIS accredited institution and/or working as a faculty in such accredited schools, and having demonstrated consistent and good quality of scholarship published in SSCI, ABDC/ABS and/Scopus Q1-Q2 ranked journals. Candidates who are recent graduates need to provide evidence about the potential to publish in the journals mentioned above. Candidates will be expected to publish one Scopus Q1-Q2 listed journal per year on average. The teaching load for this position will be 3 courses (9 hours) per semester. Further teaching reduction is possible in case of track record of consistent high-quality publications. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate (MBA and PhD). Preference will be given to candidates with a strong quantitative background and who can teach various Operations Management courses such as supply chain management, quality management, project management as well as quantitative methods, research methods and statistics.
All classes are taught in English.

Compensation
Rank and salary are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Compensation after-tax compares favorably with net salaries in western countries. Combined with a low cost of living, the salary becomes even more competitive in real terms.
Limited on campus housing is available to rent. In addition to salary, the benefits package includes health insurance, generous summer vacation of up to three months, reduced tuition rates for KIMEP courses, and a relocation allowance. The gross salary will be subject to a 10% income tax.
