* Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The laboratory of Virus Informatics (Jumpei Ito laboratory), Department of Biological
Informatics, Research Institute for Microbial Diseases, The University of Osaka aims to
develop bioinformatics technologies that contribute to the control of viral infectious
diseases.
The lab’s research focuses on two main areas:
(A) developing AI technologies to predict genotype–phenotype relationships of viral
proteins, and
(B) establishing efficient computational methods to identify animal viruses with high
potential to cause future pandemics.
The laboratory is seeking an academic staff member who has a flexible attitude and can
contribute to developing and harnessing the strength of the laboratory’s research.
