Offer Description
The project develops a novel empirical
framework to investigate how early-stage
technological choices shape long-term
innovation trajectories in the chemistry
industry. To address this issue the candidates
are expected to collaborate to develop an
original, large-scale, integrated database
combining computational chemistry outputs
with patent data and complementary sources,
including firm and inventor information. The
objective is then to use the data to address
questions about organizational and individual
factors shaping early-stage R&D technological
choices and trajectories of development. The
research is founded through an ERC Synergy
and therefore it will be carried out within an
interdisciplinary team, involving economists,
management scholars, and computational
chemists.
