Offer Description

The (Advanced Computing, Photonics, Electromagnetics) CPEresearch domain focuses applied research activities on HPC convergence, Big Data, and the orchestration of supercomputing resources. Frontier research focuses on Quantum Computing, Quantum Communication, bionics, nuclear and biomedical fusion through the experimental laboratories of rapid prototyping, biomedical and photonics. In the field of High Performance Computing (HPC), activities related to parallel programming and code porting on accelerators (FPGAs, GPUs) are being developed, as well as the development of RISC-V applications in scenarios where the use of open hardware is necessary. Another research topic is Computing Continuum (Cloud To Edge), which addresses activities related to the orchestration of distributed resources in heterogeneous environments (HPC/Cloud/EDGE) with a focus on the use of energy efficiency strategies. In addition, the group is very active in Quantum Computing, particularly in research topics related to the resolution of combinatorial problems on hybrid systems (HPC/Cloud & Quantum machines), and in research and development on the “Lagrange” quantum machine at the Polytechnic University of Turin.

The researcher will join the Advanced Computing, Photonics and Electromagnetics research domain and will be involved in research and innovation projects in the field of HPC computing. The planned activities include research and development of applications on Linux operating systems and the use of the main open source frameworks and business logic in high performance computing environments. He/she will be responsible for collecting, processing and analysing data generated by prototypes using commercial and open source cloud computing platforms designed to support the development of predictive analysis models. In addition, he/she will design and implement backend and frontend software for the management and control of prototype electronic devices in the context of experiments on research infrastructures and prototypes based on cloud, edge computing, embedded technologies and related paradigms. He/she will be involved in international projects in collaboration with companies, research centres and universities from across Europe, regional projects and research consultancy with companies.

Offered contract:

  • fixed-term, full-time researcher agreement (24/36 months);
  • terms and conditions of employment are fixed by national collective bargaining agreement (CCNL Terziario)
