Commitment & contract: Full-time internship within the Erasmus+ Traineeship programme for undergraduate students enrolled in a master’s degree programme; the position requires a time commitment of 40 hours/week (full time)

Location: Center for Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Genoa, Italy

Duration: 6 months

Start date: 15/09/2026 (flexible)

Compensation: No salary granted by IIT (applicants must rely on funding from their University’s Erasmus+ programme)

THE ROLE

During your internship you will work on a projectin the Event-Driven Perception for Robotics(https://edpr.iit.it/ ) group, coordinated by Chiara Bartolozzi. This group focuses onbiologically inspired computation in robot processing event-driven sensor data

Your activity will comprise

• Multimodal tactile and proprioception data Classification
• Training and deployment of Spiking Neural Networks

And will allow you to develop competences in

• Tactile Perception
• Spiking Neural Networks

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• To be registered as a student in an undergraduate master’s degree programme in Computer science, Engineering, Robotics or a cognate fieldofstudy for the entire duration of your stay at IIT
• To have a good command of spoken and written English
• To rely on funding from your University’s Erasmus+ programme
