Position Description
The Physics Department of Ariel University, Israel, invites applications for a two year postdoctoral research position.

The starting date is in 2026 and is negotiable.

We are looking for a mathematician or a theoretical physicist who has an experience in the noncommutative geometry and/or in the noncommutative field theory. We are interested, first of all, in the application of the cyclic cohomology theory and, specifically, of the Connes - Chern character to condensed matter physics. This includes, in particular, applications to quantum Hall liquids along the lines of https://doi.org/10.1016/j.aop.2020.168179 . The applications are also possible to the topological semimetals in solid state physics, and to the nondissipative transport in high energy physics.

The applicants will have the opportunity to interact with the other theorists of the physics Department of Ariel University including M.Lewkowicz (condensed matter physics), S.Bondarenko (perturbative QCD), I.Ben-Dayan (cosmology), A.Prygarin (mathematical physics), A.Kashi, L.Tal-Or, Dafne Guetta (astrophysics), V.Belavin (conformal field theory).
