Offer Description
Joining the French Geological Survey (BRGM) means becoming part of France's leading public institution for Earth Science applications bringing together 1,000 wholeheartedly committed experts across 29 bases in Mainland and Overseas France.
BRGM focuses on enhancing geological knowledge and understanding of surface and sub-surface-related phenomena, with a view to meeting the challenges of environmental changes through innovative projects with societal implications.
As part of your duties, you will be required to:
1. Strategic Monitoring of European Programmes
Lead strategic monitoring of Interreg Europe programmes (2021–2027 programming period and upcoming cycles) on behalf of BRGM and serve as the internal reference expert.
Conduct active and targeted monitoring of calls for proposals under European territorial cooperation programmes such as ERDF and Interreg (e.g., POCTEFA, SUDOE, ALCOTRA, Alpine Space, Caribbean, etc.).
Identify expressions of interest and regional research calls for projects (e.g., STEP ERDF, APR-IR CVL, etc.) and coordinate BRGM proposals for the same call, in support of Regional Directors.
2. Territorial and Partnership Development
Provide regular and proactive support to regional stakeholders (DAT/DIR, Regional Directors, Project Managers) in project development and proposal preparation.
Maintain an overview of BRGM's potential operating frameworks with regional managing authorities and decentralized state services (e.g., DRARI).
3. Activity Monitoring, Steering and Capitalisation
Track identified opportunities for BRGM and communicate them effectively to operational and support departments — including DF/CAPE — to anticipate and optimize contractual arrangements.
Contribute to the consolidation of the DOs' bid pipeline and order books.
4. CPER and State–Region Contractual Frameworks
In collaboration with Regional Directors, build centralized monitoring of regional smart specialisation strategies, State–Region Plan Contracts (CPER) and CPIER.
Assess remaining project opportunities and anticipate future calls for proposals (2027/2028) for which BRGM may be eligible.
5. Scientific Contribution
Contribute to scientific projects aligned with your current expertise, with time allocation proportionate to your other responsibilities.
Context and contributions of the position
The Project Support, Production and Performance Directorate (D3P) supports operational departments in preparing and delivering their scientific activities, while also evaluating and improving the institution's overall performance.
It monitors major funding programmes and provides support in developing complex projects, in coordination with other steering departments and the Finance Directorate.
