Offer Description

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network MITIME: Entanglements of Migration and Time in Post-industrial Urban Europe has been established to explore how temporality shapes migration, inequality, and urban life in contemporary Europe.

The network (including universities based in Belgium, Finland, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain, or Türkiye) aims to train a new generation of migration scholars, policy analysts, and practitioners who are equipped to critically examine and address the socio-cultural inequalities embedded in mobility and belonging. MITIME challenges conventional understandings of migration as a linear sequence – from departure to arrival to settlement – and instead approaches mobility as multi-directional, recursive, and contingent. Further details are available on the website of the project at this link: https://migrationtime.eu/.

Within the framework of the MITIME project, Migration Research Center at Koç University (MiReKoc)invites applications for 1 fully funded PhD position (DR2) on the subject: Remote Work, Control and (International) Mobility in Post-industrial Contexts, carried out under the joint supervision of Ayşen Üstübici (Koç University, main supervisor) and  Edurne Bartoleme Peral (University of Deusto, co-supervisor).
