Job Description
Are you searching for a position that will allow you to expand on your interest and experience in interdisciplinary research linking cell biology with quantum physics and instrumentation? Then read on.
In the research group “MR by Optics” at DTU Health Tech, we are offering two postdoc positions with focus on intracellular nanodiamond-based sensing. We are a small and dynamic group combining optical methods and NV-centre based quantum sensing with cellular biophysics and cell biology. We would love to be joined by you if you hold expertise in optical physics, NV-centre based sensing, cellular biophysics or optical instrumentation.
Responsibilities and qualifications
We imagine that one of our new colleagues has experience in construction and/or operation of home-built optical setups, potentially with colour centres in diamond or other solid-state defects. We imagine that our second new colleague has experience with biophysics and nanoparticle sensors in biological systems, be it single cells or other biological samples.
You will collaborate with other group members to study intracellular mechanics correlated with results of NV-centre based intracellular sensing. You are self-driven, creative, and has proven your academic excellence and/or scientific achievements. We also expect you to have a strong ability to conceive new ideas, take initiative and leadership, and secure progress of the experimental work.
We expect you to:
- be motivated and dedicated to doing research of the highest standards,
- enjoy working in a team, be excited about sharing your expertise with other group members, and be open to new ideas,
- share our values of scientific curiosity and creativity,
- be open and honest and conduct research responsibly,
- be excited about large challenges and enjoy solving them,
- have an extraordinary drive towards achieving groundbreaking results,
- enjoy scientific discussions and participating in thoughtful conversations,
- make things work and deliver!
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
