Job Description
The section for statistics and data analysis is looking for a Postdoc to join the section, with the aim of strengthening the section’s work within scientific consultancy in statistics and in general data science.
You - the Post doc - is particularly expected to do research work within civil engineering with a focus on sustainability. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with affiliated private companies solving or contributing to the solution of problems. The nature of this work will be within the area that in broad terms can be described as data science. You will contribute to the research in the department, in particular within statistics, sustainability in civil engineering, and data science, where you will work with dedicated colleagues to gain insight for the benefit of society. To fulfill the position, you must possess solid knowledge of data science. Preferably you will have experience in the application of data science within private companies.
Responsibilities and qualifications
- Provide research based scientific advice for private companies;
- Participating in research within the section, primarily in the areas of data science in civil engineering;
- Participate in project management and funding acquisition;
- Facilitate ad-hoc tasks within the section’s responsibilities in teaching and research;
- Take part in publication of research results.
You should have the following qualifications:
- An education as civil engineer or statistician;
- Familiarity with applied statistics;
- Have the proven ability to cooperate in cross-disciplinary environments;
- Knowledge of circumstances under which university scientific advice is given to private companies;
- A background within scientific computing, using tools such as R, Julia or Python;
- Knowledge of using data science in relation to civil engineering;
- Be able to communicate efficiently in Danish at the level of a native speaker;
- Be able to work independently and take initiatives within research.
- Possess communication skills to scientific and non-scientific recipients.
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
The period of employment is 2 years. Preferred starting date is 1 April 2026 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position.
