Description:

Option Studio (ARC3015Y) is an opportunity for visiting professionals and professors to teach a stand-alone studio and, also, a moment in the curriculum when our professional graduate students can elect to take a studio in a discipline of their choosing. The breadth of offerings and topics will readily complement the students’ burgeoning thesis ambitions while also given them an opportunity to work with faculty conducting research related to their own interests. These studios will be opened to all graduate students (M.Arch, MLA, MUD).

Salary (0.5 FCE): 

$9,997.48 for Sessional Lecturer I ($10,699.22 for SLI Long Term);

$10,699.22 for Sessional Lecturer II ($10,953.96 for SLII Long Term);

$10,953.96 for Sessional Lecturer III ($11,228.90 for SLIII Long Term), inclusive of vacation pay

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail 

Minimum Qualifications: M.Arch degree or other Graduate degree in Architecture. We are seeking applicants with a proven record of teaching foundation design studios at the M. Arch level and track record of award-winning practice.

Description of duties: Attending meetings required by studio coordinator; Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
