Offer Description
Title: Using molecular approaches to understand the biodiversity associated with rhodolith beds
The Marine Ecology and Conservation Laboratory at the Federal University of São Paulo (LABECMar/UNIFESP) invites interested researchers to apply for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). The researcher will be supervised by Dr. Guilherme Pereira-Filho and will work on a project investigating various biological and ecological aspects of rhodolith beds, with a primary focus on molecular tools.
The successful candidate will be expected to use molecular techniques to address fundamental ecological questions regarding the rhodolith ecosystem.
Duration: 12 months, with the possibility of renewal for an additional 12 months (totaling 24 months), contingent upon performance and results.
Stipend: R$ 12,570.00 per month (tax-free).
Location: In-person at LABECMar/Unifesp, Santos, São Paulo state, Brazil.
Start Date: April 2026.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship also includes a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
