Offer Description
One post-doctoral position is available within the scope of the project “Modeling of monogenic diseases for pathophysiological studies and pharmacological tests using specialized cells derived from iPSCs”, hosted by the Federal University of São Paulo's Medical School (EPM-UNIFESP) in Brazil and funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP)
One of the objectives of the project is to evaluate the correlation between phenotype versus genotype of Fabry disease (FD), in order to understand both the pathophysiology and to identify new treatments. Therefore, we are working on a platform focused on the development of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) for FD modeling in neural cells.
The following are required qualifications: experience with cell culture, molecular biology analyses (qPCR, Western Blotting), next-generation sequencing (exome and transcriptome), enzymatic activity experiments, and scientific writing. Experience with the kallikrein-kinin system and rare genetic diseases will be considered a plus.
The position is open to Brazilian and foreign applicants. Candidates will be evaluated through documentation (letter of interest, letter of reference, FAPESP-format curriculum vitae containing a link ORCID, ResearcherID, or Google Scholar), and through a video conference interview. The selected candidate will receive a 12-month FAPESP Post-Doctoral Fellowship worth R$ 12,570.00 per month and a Research Contingency Fund equivalent to 10% of the annual fellowship amount to cover unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activity.
