Offer Description

A post-doctoral position funded by FAPESP is available at the State University of Campinas's Institute of Computing (IC-UNICAMP), São Paulo state, Brazil, in the area of compilers, runtimes, and High-Performance Computing, focusing on the convergence of HPC and Artificial Intelligence.

The project will develop runtime optimizations and advanced compilation techniques for scientific and AI applications on heterogeneous GPU clusters. Research topics include scheduling, memory management, communication–computation overlap, and performance optimization in distributed systems. The work also involves modern compiler infrastructures, with emphasis on MLIR, and contributions to LLVM and the OpenMP standard.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, completed before the fellowship start date. Candidates should demonstrate experience in at least two of the following areas: compilers, parallel programming, distributed systems, or HPC/AI runtimes, as well as strong C/C++ skills and relevant research publications.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 12,570.00 monthly; the Research Contingency Fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship, should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
