Your personal sphere of play:

The research group of Prof. Dr. Ina Bergheim, Molecular Nutritional Science, Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Vienna, is looking for support in human studies focusing on the interaction of nutrition, metabolic liver disease and immune responses. We are an interdisciplinary research team working at the interfaces between nutrition and the development of metabolic diseases as well as healthy aging. We build on a good working atmosphere, close collaboration with our students, self-dependent involvement, and coordination of research projects.

Your future tasks:

You will be responsible for the conceptualization, co-coordination and co-supervision of studies focusing on the effects of nutrition on the gut-liver axis and immune response in humans and cell culture models. Participation in paper writing and publication, independent teaching, as defined by the collective agreement, is expected. Furthermore, you will be expected to supervise students, participate in evaluation measures and quality assurance, and be involved in the department administration, as well as teaching and research administration.

This is part of your personality:

•    Completed doctoral/PhD studies in the field of Nutritional Sciences or related disciplines (e.g., life sciences) 
•    Outstanding dissertation
•    Lively interested in science
•    Very good knowledge in nutritional human physiology
•    Hands-on experiences in conducting human intervention studies as well as molecular methods and cell culture experiments assessing inflammatory responses
•    Ability to communicate fluently in German and English
•    High interpersonal skills
•    Ability to work independently and showing a high level of motivation for research
