About This Opportunity  

A newly established opportunity has arisen for a second Senior Coordinator to join UQ’s Student Scholarships and Prizes team. In this key role, you will lead and mentor a high-performing team of Senior Administration Officers, delivering and enhancing scholarship and prize initiatives across the University.

You will work closely with senior academics, professional staff, and external partners, overseeing operations, reporting, and financial coordination while driving efficient processes and an exceptional student experience. This role is ideal for a professional who combines strong administrative expertise with effective leadership, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is passionate about making a real difference for students.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and supportive culture.

  • Oversee the delivery, monitoring, and continuous improvement of scholarships and prizes.

  • Manage operations, reporting, and financial coordination, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across UQ and external partners to support successful award delivery.

  • Apply data, systems, and analysis to inform decision-making and improve processes.

About You

  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience, with a degree and at least four years’ experience, or substantial administrative expertise in a complex organisational environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and deliver high-quality client-focused service.

  • Excellent organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Advanced administrative and digital capability, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using enterprise systems and project coordination tools.

  • Sound judgement and problem-solving ability, with a proactive approach to resolving issues and improving processes.

  • The ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with organisational guidelines and legislative requirements. 

Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks, which may include verification of the right to work in Australia, qualifications and criminal history checks.  This may also include checks relating to gender-based violence matters or other integrity and conduct requirements.
