About the opportunity

The Faculty of Engineering is seeking enthusiastic and capable Casual Associate Education Designers to join our team and play a hands-on role in enhancing the student learning experience.

This is a highly collaborative, high-impact role where you will work closely with academics and teaching teams to bring units to life — providing practical, on-the-ground support across start-of-semester delivery and unit reviews. You’ll be part of a team that partners deeply with staff, offering tailored guidance, responsive support, and solutions that make a difference. This role will be located at the Faculty of Engineering on the Camperdown Campus  (J12).

In this role, you will:

  • Provide hands-on support and advice to academic staff on start-of-semester activities, including Canvas rollovers and refreshes, Akari, assessments and rubrics

  • Offer technical expertise in the development and enhancement of learning materials and Canvas sites

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with key staff to ensure education support needs are understood and met

  • Support the uplift of content and materials across programs and units

  • Contribute to unit reviews, helping to improve quality, consistency and student engagement

You’ll be joining a team that is deeply embedded in the Faculty’s teaching and learning, working side-by-side with academics to deliver clear, engaging and well-designed learning experiences for students.

About you

  • experience in designing, developing, maintaining sustainable learner-facing unit of study websites using a Learner Management System, such as Canvas and SEAMS tools, SRES

  • high technology affinity

  • a strong knowledge of University policies and procedures and administrative processes

  • excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
