Department: Zaven and Sonia Akian College of Science and Engineering (CSE) Contract type: Full-time Job location: Yerevan, the capital of the Republic of Armenia Programs: BS in Engineering Sciences
Position Overview: The Akian College of Science and Engineering’s BS in Engineering Sciences (https://cse.aua.am/es/ ) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Aerospace Engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting in July 2026. Faculty members at AUA are expected to teach three courses per semester, pursue an active research agenda, and engage in program development and university service. We seek a dedicated individual who will contribute to our vibrant academic community through innovative research, teaching, and student mentoring.

Responsibilities:
Teach courses, such as mechanics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, engineering dynamics, control systems, systems engineering, and mechatronic design, Contribute to curricular and programmatic developments, Engage actively in research that contributes to the fields of aerospace engineering and publish findings in high impact journals, Develop new courses, such as introduction to aerospace engineering, aerodynamics, propulsion, aerospace structures, aerospace systems and control, Mentor students in their academic and research pursuits, including capstone project supervision and independent studies, Participate in program, college, and university service activities, Perform other duties assigned by the Dean.
Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a PhD in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or a closely related discipline. Applicants at the assistant professor level should have some teaching experience and a record of peer-reviewed publications.
Requirements for this position include:
PhD degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or related field, Documented experience in research and teaching within the areas of mechanics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, engineering dynamics, control systems, systems engineering, and mechatronics, Documented ability to do research in other areas, such as introduction to aerospace engineering, aerodynamics, propulsion, aerospace structures, aerospace systems and control or related fields Documented experience in teaching in English, Documented experience in student supervision, including thesis supervision, Documented experience in collaboration with companies and/or other organizations in research and education, Documented experience in applying for research funding and involvement in Horizon Europe or the National Science Foundation (NSF) funded projects.
Compensation:
Compensation is commensurate with the university-wide pay scale and will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
