Summary: There is an open call for two (2) Research Scholarship (“Bolsa de Investigação”) at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of project 6G-PATH.This work was supported in part by the EU’s HE research and innovation programme HORIZON-JU-SNS-2023 under the 6G-PATH project (Grant No. 101139172). The views expressed in this contribution are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the project nor the Commission.

Scientific Area: Networks and Services

Group: Network Architectures and Protocols – Av

Work Objectives: Design, implementation and evaluation of networks and services, for smart cities, multi-access edge computing, orchestration, and private 5G networks.

Place of work: The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Prof.Pedro Filipe Vieira Rito.

Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of renewal. Start date: March 2025 or soon thereafter.

Specific Requirements

Research grants are intended:

• for students enrolled in a degree-conferring course to carry out R&D activities with the aim to consolidate their scientific training through the development of research work leading to the attainment of the respective academic degree or completion of the course (integrated or not in R&D projects).
• for students enrolled in courses that do not confer an academic degree but which are integrated in an educational project of a higher education institution and are developed in association or cooperation with one or several R&D units.

Candidates must be enrolled in a master's, integrated master's, or in a non-conferring academic degree course in the areas of telecommunications engineering, informatics, and telematics engineering or equivalent. Knowledge in communication networks, great motivation, and ability for teamwork.

Benefits

Monthly salary: 990.98€ according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores ). The payment will be made by bank transfer.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates must be enrolled in a master's, integrated master's, or in a non-conferring academic degree course in the areas of telecommunications engineering, informatics, and telematics engineering or equivalent. Knowledge in communication networks, great motivation, and ability for teamwork.

Selection process

Selection criteria: 

- C1 (60%) Evaluation of the curriculum vitae and other relevant documentation

- C2 (40%) Suitability of the candidates’ profile based on the relevant work experience in the tasks described in the work objectives
