This scholarship was first offered in 2005, and using funding generated by Seed Tech Services. In 2022, this business was purchased by AsureQuality, who recognise the importance of supporting and developing future capability within the seed industry and so continue to fund these scholarships. The name changed to AsureQuality Seed Technology Scholarship to mark this change


Who we're looking for

We're looking for postgraduate students researching agronomy


What you'll be studying

This is a postgraduate scholarship. You will want to or be undertaking research that involves agricultural plants, such as pasture, crops, seeds and trees. Ideally, you will be a master’s student and your research project will involve some aspect of seed biology or seed technology.


Eligibility criteria

You must be:

  • studying full-time
  • undertaking research in agricultural plants, such as pasture, crops, seeds, and trees

Application checklist

Include the following with your application:

  • your academic transcripts for any tertiary study completed outside of Massey University
  • a statement on how receiving this scholarship would be of benefit to you and your study, and how you believe you meet the intentions of this award. This should include details of your research project
  • a copy of your Massey University transcripts/current enrolment. You can download your Study History Report from the Student Portal, under ‘Results and Exams’.

Selection considerations

When choosing our recipients, we will consider your academic achievements and the relevance of your chosen programme to agronomy. We may also consider other scholarships or bursaries you hold. Preference may be given to master’s students and to projects that involve some aspect of seed biology or seed technology.
