Offer Description

Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) in Brno, Czech Republic offers several PhD positions in the field of molecular medicine.

Researchers of the programme focus on various types of leukaemia and several solid tumours, they investigate immune cell microenvironment, transcription regulation, B and T cell receptor repertoires, and the effect of RNA modifications on innate immunity. For various malignancies, much effort has also been made to identify diagnostic and prognostic markers (miRNA profiling, lincRNA, mutations in TP53 and other cancer-related genes) and introduce them in clinical practice.

Available PhD topics:

  • Functions of cyclin-dependent kinase 11 (CDK11) in regulation of gene expression and tumorigenesis
  • Characterization of cyclin-dependent kinase 12 (CDK12) substrates and their roles in regulation of transcription and tumorigenesis
  • The mechanisms of signalling pathways deregulation in acute myeloid leukaemia
  • Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in microenvironmental interactions of B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia
  • Lymphoid microenvironment models and their use to study targeted therapy and resistance in B cell malignancies
  • Regulation of cell migration in B cell leukemias and lymphomas
  • RNA regulatory networks in aggresiveness of B cell lymphomas
  • Mechanisms of RNA biogenesis regulated by RNA modifying factors
  • Regulation of microenvironmental interactions in chronic lymphocytic leukemia by non-coding RNAs
  • Role of transcription factors in onset and progression of B-Cell malignancies
  • Utilizing Foundational Encoding Models for Multiomics Data Integration and Knowledge Base Modeling Towards Clinical Applications
