BAE Systems Australia First Nations Scholarship in Engineering

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Be an Australian citizen
  • Be enrolling full-time (or part-time with extenuating circumstances) in Semester 1 2025 in your first or second year in in one of the following programs (single or double degree):
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Adv Manufacturing and Mechatronics) (Honours) (BH068)
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Aerospace Engineering) (Honours) (BH078)
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) (BH075)
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Electronic and Computer Systems Engineering) (BH073)
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) (Honours) (BH070)
  • Consider opportunities to complete professional experience, an industry placement and final year project as a part of the engineering curriculum at BAE Systems Australia; for educational purposes and to support competency development and course accreditation requirements. These placements may form part of the CareerTrackers Programs through BASE Systems’ partnership with CareerTrackers.
  • Eligible to apply for and hold an Australian Government Security Clearance .

Applications will be evaluated based on equity and/or financial need, along with the applicant’s statement, with a preference for students who do not already receive an industry scholarship or other scholarships worth over $15,000 per year (excluding any accommodation-based scholarships).

  • A personal statement (no more than 1 A4 page) that addresses:
  • Your reasons for studying your engineering degree
  • Future career goals within the engineering / defence industry
  • Your interest in completing professional experience and placement activities with the donor to support your program of study
  • Your academic standing and achievements
  • How the scholarship will assist you
  • A curriculum vitae, no greater than two pages in length.
