About this scholarship

This scholarship is funded by an ARC Linkage Project collaborating with an industry partner. The purpose of this scholarship is to support THREE future PhD students in conducting research on the “Thermochemical energy storage and greenhouse gas conversion”. The PhD research projects are important part of an ARC Linkage Project which aims to design and develop novel perovskite-based materials to realise both thermochemical energy storage and greenhouse gas upgrading at reduced operation temperatures featuring high efficiency, selectivity, superior stability, and cost effectiveness. This project should provide significant benefits to achieve energy and environmental sustainability for Australia.

This scholarship provides a living stipend of $37,500 p.a. pro rata indexed, based on full-time studies.The duration of the award shall be three years with a possible extension of up to six months (maximum), assessed on a case-by-case basis.In addition, this scholarship will include a tuition fee waiver for a successful international candidate upon the approval of Curtin University.

The successful candidate must enrol into a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program (full-time study).


The successful candidate must meet the minimum academic entry requirement for admission into the Doctor of Philosophy program https://research.curtin.edu.au/postgraduate/  including the English proficiency levels set by Curtin University. 

Candidates should have Masters or bachelor (Honors) degree in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Materials, Environmental, Resources) or Chemistry (e.g., Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Electrochemistry) or equivalent degree, and meet the language requirement (IELTS, Overall 6.5, Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening 6.0 or TOEFL, Overall 79, Reading, 13, Listening 13, Speaking 18, Writing 21, or PTE equivalent).

Students with previous research experience and publications in the fields of materials science, materials engineering, chemical engineering, electrochemistry, inorganic chemistry, process engineering environmental science, etc., are encouraged to apply.

Enrolment Requirements

Recipients must complete their milestone 1 within 6 months of enrolment and remain enrolled on a full time basis for the duration of the scholarship.
