The Department of Physics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign seeks highly qualified candidates to fill a full-time tenured or tenure-track position at any rank. Exceptional applicants in all areas of biological physics will be considered; experimental candidates are preferred. Our faculty and students are affiliated with and have access to world-class campus multidisciplinary research centers and laboratories, including: the N ational Science Foundation Science and Technology Center for Quantitative Cell Biology (NSF STC-QCB) , the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology , the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biolog y , the Materials Research Laboratory , the National Center for Supercomputing Applications , the Coordinated Science Laboratory , and the Ho lonyak Micro & Nanotechnology Lab .

A doctoral degree in Physics or a related field is required at the start date, and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The budgeted salary range for the position is $110,000 to $129,000 at the Assistant professor level, $130,000 to $144,000 at the Associate Professor level and $145,000 to $170,000 at the Full Professor level, on a 9-month service basis.  Full consideration will be given to applications received by March 6, 2025.  Applicants may be interviewed before the closing date; however, no hiring decision will be made until after that date. A start date is expected in the fall of 2025; however, this is negotiable.
