Tenure-Track: Assistant Professor - Physical Geography (Coastal Impacts)

The Department of Geography in the College of Arts & Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Physical Geography.  We seek a physical geographer with research focus in coastal regions. We are interested in candidates with expertise in a broad range of subjects, including but not limited to, biogeography, hydrology, geomorphology, and climatology. The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent, rigorous, externally funded research program in physical geography.This is a nine-month full-time annual appointment with an anticipated start date of August 2025.

In addition to research expectations, the successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and supervise graduate students. Faculty are also expected to participate in appropriate disciplinary service and contribute to departmental and university committees.

The Department of Geography (artsci.tamu.edu/geography ) has twenty-two faculty members with strengths in biogeography, climatology, geographic information science and technology (GIST), geomorphology, human geography, and human-environment relationships. We are one of eighteen departments in the College of Arts & Sciences (http://artsci.tamu.edu ).

The successful candidate must have demonstrated potential for excellence in research with a record of scholarly publications. We also expect that successful candidates will have experience in or demonstrated potential for securing external research funding. 

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Geography or related field in hand by date of hire.
