Pay Range Information
Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

Position Summary Information


Job Description Summary
The Sustainable Business and Creative Solutions Advisor leads the design and development of an innovative business lab that blends strategy, creativity, sustainability, and artificial intelligence. This role cultivates a collaborative, forward-thinking environment, promoting interdisciplinary learning and hands-on experiences to equip students for the evolving business world.
Responsibilities
Creative Business, Creativity, and Sustainability Lab
  • Establish a cutting-edge business lab that leverages AI to drive interdisciplinary collaboration fostering innovative solutions for business, environmental and social sustainability.
  • Work in conjunction with the Director of Corporate Relations, to cultivate strategic industry partnerships in design, media, technology, entertainment, and sustainable business.
  • Collaborate with the Leatherby Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics to develop and support pitch competitions and incubate startups focused on creative solutions and business sustainability.
  • Engage with leaders from creative industries and faculty to shape curriculum, mentorship, and experiential learning.

Program Development
  • Facilitate opportunities for students to engage in industry-specific research projects by integrating real-world challenges and business cases into academic or co-curricular settings.
  • Collaborate with the Career Advancement Center to develop internship pipelines and career opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Establish and oversee a mentorship program that connects students with experienced professionals to support their career exploration and professional development.
  • Plan and execute co-curricular events such as business strategy challenges, design thinking competitions, and innovation hackathons to foster creative problem-solving, interdisciplinary collaboration, and applied learning.

Required Qualifications
  • MBA degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in marketing principles, strategies, and tactics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to provide expert guidance on sustainable business models, practices, and strategies that align with industry standards and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.
  • Ability to advise stakeholders on integrating creative solutions into business operations to improve efficiency, innovation, and long-term sustainability.
  • Design and implement programs that promote sustainable practices and foster innovative thinking in business contexts.
  • Ability to manage and adapt to changes in the business environment and market conditions.
    Knowledge of the design and delivery of educational programs.
    Monitor and evaluate the success of student initiatives, partnership programs, and sustainability efforts through measurable outcomes and stakeholder feedback.
    Supervisory skills to oversee, train and mentor student workers.
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work with diverse individuals and groups at all organizational levels, both within and outside the University.
  • Skills in building and maintaining client relationships, understanding their needs, and delivering results.
  • Experience in a higher education setting.

  • Prior teaching experience.
