Description
The NYU Motor Speech Lab (MSL), directed by Dr. Maria Grigos, has an opening for a part-time speech language pathologist to begin in October 2024. The speech language pathologist will be involved in federally-funded research that will examine the outcomes of a motor-based approach to improving speech production in children with childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) who are under the age of five years. Responsibilities include transcribing and scoring speech samples and probe data, as well as conducting intra-rater and inter-rater reliability.
The initial appointment will be for one year, with possible renewal for additional years.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly salary range for this position is $28.25 - $30.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Qualifications
Required: A Master's degree in speech-language pathology, Certificate of Clinical Competency in speech language pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA, NYS licensure in speech language pathology, at least 2-years of experience in assessing and treating childhood apraxia of speech. Excellent IPA transcription and organizational skills, as well as a problem-solving mindset. Computer-savvy and interested in learning new skills.
