Research Technician (Temporary Casual)

Duties and Responsibilities: 
The Department of Neurology is looking for a technician to work in both a research and clinical based laboratory. This position will be job-shared between two laboratories in the department of Neurology.
50% Research 
* Process research samples
* Prepare and ship samples and reports to requesting physicians
* Prepare images as requested
50% Lab Tech Work  
* Process clinical samples
* Prepare and ship samples and reports to requesting physicians
* Maintain CLIA standards
* Document and maintain biopsy databases
* Administrative duties as assigned -
* PCard reconciliation
* UMarket Purchasing
* Spreadsheet entries
* Database maintenance
* Invoicing for services rendered
* Other duties as assigned

All required qualifications must be included in the application materials

Required Qualifications:
-BS/BA degree in Biology or related field with related experience
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects
-Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with histology 
-Experience with confocal microscopy 
-Previous research experience 
-Ability to assist in grant submission 
-Excellent verbal, written skills, and organization skills 

This position is located in the Department of Neurology.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
