Summary of Job Duties:
The Research Program Manager is responsible for leading and managing community-based initiatives with a focus on fostering partnerships and addressing local needs. This role includes developing regional Community Advisory Boards (CABs), supervising Community Health Workers (CHWs), and conducting community needs assessments to inform mini-grant programs. The manager provides critical community perspectives to organizational leadership and facilitates outreach efforts to strengthen partnerships with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in one of the social or behavioral sciences, such as psychology, social work, public health, sociology, anthropology, health science, or related field, plus five (5) years relevant experience in community outreach, program management, or public health initiatives required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
Proven leadership in community-based initiatives.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience in supervising and developing CHW staff.
Proficient in project management and data reporting tools.

Responsibilities:
Establish and coordinate Regional Community Advisory Boards (CABs) to ensure active community engagement. Collaborate with CABs to identify priorities, strategize solutions, and ensure the community's voice is central to decision-making processes.
Develop and sustain partnerships with community organizations, local agencies, and stakeholders. Represent the program at community events and other outreach opportunities to build trust and collaboration.
Recruit, train, and supervise CHW staff to deliver high-quality, culturally competent services.
Provide ongoing professional development and performance management for CHW teams.
Design and lead comprehensive community needs assessments to identify local challenges and resources. Oversee the administration and evaluation of mini-grants aimed at addressing identified needs and empowering local organizations.
Manage the implementation of community-based research projects, ensuring alignment with program goals.
Maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and ensure ethical standards in all program activities.
Develop and maintain operational databases to track program metrics and outcomes. Lead the preparation of periodic reports, presentations, and publications that communicate program impact.
Serve as a liaison between the community and organizational leadership to ensure strategies are informed by on-the-ground insights.
Contribute to strategic planning and policy discussions with a focus on equity and inclusiveness.
Collaborate on grant proposal development to secure funding for community-based initiatives.
Manage budgets and resources to align with program objectives and financial sustainability.
Coordinate meetings, develop presentations, and organize events that promote program visibility.
