Advertised Job Summary | Act as an independent investigator developing a research agenda and support Principal Investigator (PI) on research strategies to reduce smoking and e-cigarette use and other research initiatives. |

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience | The position requires a PhD degree in health behavior, social epidemiology, sociology, social psychology, or related fields or closely related field, plus a minimum of 2 year(s) of postdoctoral research experience in experience in the conduct and dissemination of policy-relevant tobacco research related to preventing youth e-cigarette use and/or promoting adult smoking cessation by the start date of employment. |

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Expertise in advanced quantitative methods (e.g., multilevel modeling, repeated measures methods), including for analysis of complex survey data (e.g., clustering of data; repeated measures). Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and have strong writing skills, including evidence for leadership on analysis and writing of scientific publications. Ability to write and speak Spanish is also desirable. Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations. |
Job Duties
Job Duty | Contribute to field research for one project to understand social media and social network influences on teen initiation and progression of e-cigarette and cigarette use in Mexico. This will involve assistance with finalizing study protocols and data management. As the project progresses, activities will increasingly involve data analysis, including social network analysis, and production of scientific manuscripts. Research activities for the second project will involve multi-level modeling of ecological momentary assessment data and writing scientific manuscripts. |
