Job Description:

     Job Title: Research Assistant Professor

     Location: University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA USA

     Full-time, temporary

We seek to hire a research assistant professor to work in the group of Professor Kennth Jordan in the Chemistry Department. The individual filling this position will engage in theoretical/computational studies of charged molecules and clusters, with a focus on isomerization pathways and dynamics. 

You will be expected to publish research in high-profile peer-reviewed scientific journals and present results at conferences.

Required Qualifications:

     Ph.D. in postdoctoral experience in theoretical chemistry

     Expertise in the development and application electronic structure calculations is essential. 

Desired Qualifications:

     Experience in the following areas:

   Design of accurate many-body force fields,

   Implementation of ne computational chemistry algorithms in efficient computer codes


     Demonstrated ability to approach complex problems creatively

     Experience and/or interest in mentoring undergraduate researchers

Position Information:

This position is a temporary position for one year with possibility for renewal upon mutual agreement and the availability of funding.

Funding Source:

This position will be funded through university startup funds.
